DC Bypass

IES Distribution Center (DC) Bypass module offers en route allocations, drastically reducing cycle time, significantly reducing property, plant and equipment requirements, and eliminating distribution center and inbound transportation management costs.

Realize the next level of standardization and control throughout any supply chain network by managing the labeling at the point of origin. Rather than relying upon a third party to generate labels and deliver them to the factory, IES labeling solutions allow the factories to easily produce their own labels using the latest barcode and RFID technologies. Bar-coding overseas alleviates the restriction of address labeling imposed by package delivery services and offers a higher level of allocation flexibility previously unattainable: turning vessels into floating warehouses.

As the container arrives at the US port, the bar-coded cargo is off-loaded on the dock and an EDI message is automatically sent to the buyer that the cargo is in the deconsolidation facility or warehouse and awaiting the allocation details. The buyer replies with the allocations via EDI message which are automatically imported into IES DC Bypass.

On the dock cargo is scanned as it moves down the conveyor, triggering the system to print address labels with the final delivery information. The labeled packages are sent cross-dock to the package delivery service or common carrier, FedEx, UPS or Argix Direct. The cargo's final destination can be a store, warehouse or distribution center.

The IES DC Bypass system automatically sends out ship notices from the consolidation center to the buyer with the carrier details and simultaneously sends carton information to the carrier. Proactively manage customer expectations, avoid the inefficiencies of communicating across time zones and add value to your supply chain services.
